TREASURES OF JAPAN

This summer the New Jersey delegation of the People to People Student Ambassador Program will be traveling to Japan.

The student travel program dates back more than half a century to its founding by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. Eisenhower was acting on his firm belief that direct interaction between ordinary citizens around the world can promote cultural understanding and world peace.

Join us as we travel through Japan on an amazing journey to get to know the country, the culture and each other.

Mt. Fuji

We left Tokyo in the torrential rain.  It didn't let up all the way to Mt. Fuji, a two hour drive from Tokyo.  We drove up the winding road to the Fifth Station, sometimes called "the boundary between heaven and earth" because it lies above the level of the clouds.  We could not see more than a few feet in front of the bus.  We learned all about Mt. Fuji before venturing out to "The Gates".  Unfortunately, the wind and rain soaked us to the skin and we we're not sure if we were even at the right mountain.
If all else fails...go to the gift shop.
