TREASURES OF JAPAN

This summer the New Jersey delegation of the People to People Student Ambassador Program will be traveling to Japan.

The student travel program dates back more than half a century to its founding by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. Eisenhower was acting on his firm belief that direct interaction between ordinary citizens around the world can promote cultural understanding and world peace.

Join us as we travel through Japan on an amazing journey to get to know the country, the culture and each other.

The Long Journey Home

After fourteen wonderful days we are leaving our beloved Japan.  We have seen incredible sights, eaten things we never dared, visited ancient temples and shrines and have come to love the people who were so warm and gracious to us.

We will take home many memories of our homestay families, the torrential rains on Mt. Fuji, the taste of fish brought directly from the ocean to our table, the smell of incense, the pleasures of the markets and shops and especially of the new friends we have made.  We may not remember all the details of our trip, but in our hearts we will always treasure the experience of visiting Japan.

To all the  people who made this trip possible: People to People, our parents and families who sacrificed so we could come, to our Delegation Manager Kaori, to our leaders and especially to the people of Japan, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We will miss you!!!
